1. Introduction
Welcome to Cullengo. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data when you use our platform.
By creating an account or using Cullengo, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly and information generated automatically when you use the platform.
Account Data
When you register, we collect your email address, display name, and any optional profile information you choose to provide (such as a profile photo or bio). If you sign up using a social login provider, we receive basic profile information from that provider.
Uploaded Photos
Photos and images you upload to Cullengo are stored securely. We do not access or view your photos except as required to operate the service (for example, generating thumbnails). EXIF metadata embedded in your photos (camera model, date taken, GPS coordinates) may be read to display technical details within the platform.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, features used, timestamps, browser type, device type, and IP address. This data helps us improve the service and diagnose technical issues.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Cullengo platform.
- Authenticate your identity and manage your account.
- Enable collaboration features such as photo shoot invitations, comments, and photo selections.
- Send transactional emails (e.g., invitation notifications, password resets).
- Monitor platform usage for security purposes and abuse prevention.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your photos or personal data to train machine learning models or for advertising purposes.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share data only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: We use trusted third-party providers for database hosting, authentication, and web hosting. We also use privacy-friendly analytics to collect aggregated usage statistics — no personal data or cookies are used by this service. We use Google Search Console to monitor how our public pages appear in search results; only site-level crawl and search performance data is involved — no user personal information is transmitted. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy commitments.
- Collaborators: When you share a photo shoot album with another user, they can see the photos, comments, and selection status within that album. Your email and display name are visible to collaborators you interact with.
- Platform administrators: Authorised platform administrators may access user-uploaded content and account data for purposes of content moderation, platform support, and security enforcement. All admin access is logged in an audit trail.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and uploaded content for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion, your account enters a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the request by logging back in. After this grace period, all your personal data, uploaded photos, photo shoots, comments, selections, and associated storage files are permanently and irreversibly deleted.
Some data may be retained longer if required for legal compliance or to resolve disputes. Usage logs and analytics data are retained in anonymised form and may be kept indefinitely for statistical purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data and account. You can do this directly from your profile settings using the self-service account deletion feature. A 30-day grace period applies before permanent removal.
- Data portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format. You can export all your data (including photos, profile information, photo shoots, comments, and selections) as a ZIP file directly from your profile settings.
- Objection: Object to certain processing of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.
7. Cookies
Cullengo uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your authentication session and remember your preferences. We do not use cookies for advertising or third-party tracking.
When you first visit Cullengo, a cookie consent banner allows you to choose between accepting all cookies or essential cookies only. Essential cookies are required for the platform to function (authentication session, cookie consent preference) and cannot be disabled. Choosing “Essential Only” prevents any non-essential analytics or tracking scripts from loading.
Your cookie preference is stored in a browser cookie and remembered across sessions. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies, which will cause the consent banner to reappear.
